Muir Lowers Australian 1000m Record

Day 3 of the Calgary World Cup saw Sophie lower her own 1000m national record, taking out 19th spot in the Ladies B Division with a 1:17.65. This was Sophie's first time under the 1:18 mark. Sophie wasn't pleased with her 500m efforts so this was a nice way for her to finish off her Calgary weekend.

Daniel Greig also competed in the 1000m distance, posting a 1:11.42, placing him 28th in the Men's B Division.

On Friday, Ben Southee established a new national record for the mens 1500m, here is a video of the race. The second video is of Ben's record equaling 500m race.

Good luck to all the skaters for next weekend. I will post up the selectors' nominations for distances for next weekend's Salt Lake World Cup as soon as I'm aware of them.
